March Sinistra

March Sinistra was commissioned by the Hohenfels Trombone Quartet of Rochester, NY in the Spring of 2024. The piece blends elements of western classical, jazz and pop music into a compact showpiece featuring a militaristic ostinato and virtuosic statements from each player. The title comes from the latin for "the left hand" - a reference to the commissioning ensemble consisting of four southpaws.
